PRACTICE

The Chakras interact with each other based on the structure of musical scales, and chords. Most scales comprise seven of the twelve chromatic notes. The eighth note used is the same 'note' as the first, in a higher 'octave'. Engaging the Chakras within various scale relatinoships can enable fantastic shifts in health, and consciousness.

Musical 'chords' are comprised of at least two notes, and often more. They vibrate in relation to each other - some combinations are relatively dissonant, and others are harmonic. These patterns affect our consciousness accordingly.

The foundation of most chords is based on one note, and the eighth note above it on the chromatic scale. Remember Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do? 'Do' represents the 'home' and by the second 'Do' we are on the thirteenth note. The pattern of the major and minor scales... skip certain notes that sound dissonant to each 'home'.

Wherever we begin, the eigth note, 'So', vibrates at a ratio of 3:2 to the 'Do'. If you progress thirteen notes above the initial note, the frequency doubles, 4:2, and thus the pattern rebegins at the second 'Do'.

Our energy body works with the same relationships. When we begin at any one center, and count up (starting over at the tailbone following the crown) we find the balancing chakra. This creates what is known as a 'power chord' in music - it is a very stable relationship, and is a natural place to begin working with any energy that is out of balance, or closed down.

The fifth center above the initial home chakra, the Major, is a strong expression of energy, and the fourth, the Minor, is a strong grounding. The twelth note... creates the feeling of 'almost home' and naturally leads back into the beginning. These chakra 'notes' can be activated once the initial balance is focused, to heighten, root or return the energy system.

These are the basics. They enable a gigantic range of energetic influence. The elegance and magic in this approach go well beyond understanding!
